Your video is too long. Its more effective to have short videos for each feature.

Also been with you for donkeys years and I find the new analysis functions in CB14 a really teasing boon, but very much tend to agree with Mr TambourineMan of his ChessAssistant database/ chess board and pieces opinion. Really, how much would it take to turn a fine job into a competition breaker?

Hello, thank you for the hangout.. I wanted to ask, what engine is used for assisted analysis and for tactical analysis? Is it the default kibitzer or something else?

I generally like all the improvements of CB14. I'm not fond of realying on cloud inegration too much in software (I like to have software that is totally usable offline), but so far Chessbase maintains a good equilibrium with regard to that and I hope it continues to do so. Having said that I really love the intergation with chessbase.com news and easy access to games I viewed there via the cloud DB of CB14 - no more pgn manual downloading of pgn files, very nice!

One minor change I really dislike in CB14 (and if I'm not mistaken, it has also been applied in recent updates to CB13) is te colouring of squares on the board when annotated. Previously entire squares were coloured, and this made them really stand out; the new outline around annotated squares is too subtle in my opinion. I'd reall love the old look in that regard - perhaps an option to switch between the two styles would be possible?

Chess Position Trainer is a program that lets you train ONLY your own openings...no extraneouse stuff
Leavenfish Leavenfish 12/13/2016 05:54
Chess Position Trainer does a great job of Opening Training...Chessbase should consider something similar. Ashame after all this time it has not.

Tactical Analysis: As engines give different values - Komodo +.25 might be .40 in Stockfish, it would be nice to set values for 'fine' and 'course'. Is this currently possible?
Leavenfish Leavenfish 12/13/2016 05:26
Question: How can I STOP the program from automatically connecting to the internet each time I start an engine for analysis?

The Tactical Analysis feature: What is the difference between 'fine' and 'coarse'?

Excuse me, I forgot:

- I spoke with Mark Dvoretsky and he wondered if the User Key can come back

- In the early programs one could move the pieces with the keyboard arrows and press enter. It was nice to beat and pound a little on the keyboard, so please take it back!

- Earlier there reverse function Replay Games From Database. And without the ugly arrows and control over the board, and that after that the party was ready to play that opened the next batch automatically. It should be back I think.

- Recording of comments to mp4 files can be the next step. I do not understand why one should have to use another program for that?

I've been with you since Fritz2 and ChessBase 4 and really enjoy your programs. To save games and access to databases is a revolution that has long since become standard. But you still have not solved the tree so you have the same standard as Chess Assistant for saving the games to the database as the branches of a tree rather than as individual games. When will you do it?

Yes, I know there is extensive work to convert all your databases, but so incredibly difficult, it can not be! And the benefits would be many regarding searches, games, openings, etc. but perhaps only argument that bite are: that we will then gladly stop using ChessAssistant and just concentrate on ChessBase.

Finally fine job with the notation and automatic color and diagrams in notation! But why stop make us a better choice of board and pieces. I would like Dubrovnik pieces as an alternative (and not only on the DVD cover) and even DDR Sportverlags old chess pieces called Berlin. Its a pitty even Gustavson and his Chess24 beats Chessbase on selections of board and pieces.
