The attack on 7 October 2023 and the atrocities committed by Hamas against Israel and the civilian population have shaken us all. To this day, more than five months after October 7th, over 100 hostages remain in Hamas captivity. Together with our Israeli chess friends from Chess4all we hope that the hostages will be released soon. We also send the message by this event that we will continue to cultivate the German-Israeli friendship, especially at this time with our language which is chess.
An over the board event at German Parliament in the Bundestag which is part of a round table discussion on Israel-Germany relations in sports, the fight against anti-Semitism that has spilled over into the sports arena in recent months, etc. In the main part of OTB event GM we will be joined by Judith Polgar - the best chess player of all time and her sister IM Sofia Polgar, winner of chess olympiads and an artist. Judith and Sofia will play in a simultaneous exhibition for the missing player release of the hostages.
