A unique and exotic chess tourism event is scheduled from January 22 to 28, 2023 at various enchanting locations in Kerala.
The aim of this course is to help you understand how to make tactical opportunities arise as well as to sharpen your tactical vision - these selected lectures will help to foster your overall tactical understanding.
Chess Houseboat 2023 International Chess Tourism Event, organized by Orient Chess Moves with the support of Kerala Tourism, is an enchanting blend of chess, tourism, cultural and culinary experiences, and more.
Participants are offered full board. Everything is taken care of from the landing in Kochi to the return flight home.
The organizers, led by Professor Anilkumar, offer a chess tournament in paradise. A maximum of 100 participants will play an open with 9 rounds according to the Swiss system. The special feature: the tournament is played on a boat while travelling on the backwaters in Kerala.
Participants will be accommodated in top resorts in various fairytale locations (see information on the website). The trip is prized at 950 euros.
Participants will spend two nights at a beach resort in Marari. Marari Beach, a remote, little-known beach destination in Alappuzha, is about 11 km from the town of Alappuzha, where the fishermen of Mararikulam and their gentle way of life are among the attractions. An evening stroll is one of the best hangouts here.
Thanks to its alluring natural beauty, the Alappuzha boat trip has long been a favourite among western travellers.

Bolgatty Island is a picturesque island near Fort Kochi in Ernakulam district. It is famous for its eponymous palace and is a growing cosmopolitan hotspot in the area. Bolgatty Palace was built by the Dutch in 1744 and eventually taken over by the British. Today, it is a famous hotel and resort run by the Kerala Tourism Department Corporation (KTDC) and has its own golf course and honeymoon cottages.
The Kochi International Marina is located here. It is the only marina of its kind in India and can accommodate up to 34 yachts along with water, power and sewage pumping facilities. The Bolgatty Event Centre is known for hosting numerous international conferences, conventions, exhibitions and wedding ceremonies. Overlooking the backwaters, Cochin seaport, Vallarpadam Container Terminal and the Arabian Sea, there is no better place to hold such important events.
