Karsten Müller is considered one of the greatest endgame experts worldwide. His book "Grundlagen der Schachendspiele" (Fundamentals of Chess Endgames), written together with Frank Lamprecht, has contributed to this, as have his columns on the ChessCafe website and in ChessBase Magazine. M.'s ChessBase DVDs in Fritztrainer format on endgames are bestsellers. The mathematician with a doctorate lives in Hamburg, where he also chased points for the HSK in the Bundesliga for over 25 years.
