In this two-part course the emphasis will be on typical pawn-structures.
Lasker had a great influence on chess, and many of his games found their way into chess literature, improving the positional play of future generations.
But Lasker also impressed with tactical games which have also become immortal. We need only recall the famous "Lasker-Bauer" combination to give many of us an "aha" experience. Naturally, this combination is not to be missed in this series and is therefore presented (briefly) in this video.
Of course we want to make the connection between the achievements of the past and the brilliance of our time. This brings us to a famous example: Judit Polgar played with White against Anatoly Karpov and followed Lasker's example.
After White's last move 24.Re3, Karpov's usually quite astute sense of danger left him and he played 24...Qc5?, after which he quickly lost. Do you see how Judit went through Black's position like a knife through butter?
