The winners of our Endgame Magic Calendar!

by Arne Kaehler
12/28/2021 – For 24 days, you mastered fierce end-game puzzles. We received over 6800 emails this year! This topped last year's calendar, bravo! From all entries we randomly selected three winners for each day, who can look forward to ChessBase Shop vouchers or two Fritztrainer DVDs signed by Karsten Müller. Those who guessed all 24 doors correctly, entered into our super raffle for one of three grand prizes.

Chess Endgames 1 to 14 Chess Endgames 1 to 14

All endgame DVDs by Karsten Müller in one package! More than 70 hours of instruction! from "Basic knowledge for beginners" (volume 1) to "Practical Rook Endgames" (volume 8) to the ever-popular "Golden Guidelines of Endgame Play" (volume 14).

The lucky 89 winners

72 e-mails with the correct answer were drawn at random. Three readers who were right on one of the 24 days had the chance to win a digital voucher for our ChessBase Shop.

Furthermore we drew 14 x 2 chess endgame Fritztrainer DVDs (volume 1 to 14, ENG/GER) by Dr. Karsten Müller as prizes. The Fritztrainers were all signed by the endgame master Müller, and therefore have a special collector's value, since there are not so many of them any more.

This year, almost 65% of all answers came from Germany! Does this mean that Germans are particularly good at end games?

82 readers (!) actually guessed every single calendar door correctly, and thus additionally qualified for the draw of the three main prizes.

The 4 Player Types standard model - Find your strengths and weaknesses and those of your opponent

Playing styles in chess are an important and thus often discussed topic. GM Dr. Karsten Müller and GM Luis Engel take up a model by GM Lars Bo Hansen based on 4 player types - namely ‘activists’, ‘pragmatics’, ‘theoreticians’ and so-called ‘reflectors’.

Attention.

All winners will receive a confirmation email from us in the first week of January. For all winners of prizes that will be sent by post, we will ask for the address.
