Rook vs bishop

3/28/2023 – In the diagram position, it is White to move and draw. White is an exchange up but he still is in trouble because his pawns are weak and his rook has trouble defending them. In the game White did not find a way to draw the game and lost. Can you do better?

The Black Bishop is the dark diagonal bishop, and white can use this fact to draw. The bishop in the current position is much better than the passive rook, which white can give up for the two pawns of black which is nearest to the central files. Than he can exchange of the other pawns; however, he must be careful that Black's last pawn ends up on the h-file where it cannot be supported by the bishop to promote...
