Ian Nepomniachtchi is among the frontrunners at the FIDE Candidates in Toronto, but things could have gone differently had he not drawn his two games with black against Pragnnanandhaa and Nakamura.

In this week’s show, I have a look at both games, which featured Nepo’s beloved Petroff Defence with 6...Bd6, following his home preparation from the 2021 World Championship match against Magnus Carlsen played in Dubai.

Robert is an International Master who mostly spends his time training and coaching talented youngsters. On the PlayChess server The Fast and the Furious is a popular show where he explains sharp opening lines for a wider audience.
