My game of the week is Vidit-Aronian, featuring the Advance Variation against the French. Aronian came up with a spectacular innovation to accelerate Black's counterplay in the centre by sacrificing two pawns.

Objectively White's position was still perfectly fine, but Vidit had serious difficulties organizing his position and quickly collapsed. Typically, when the centre is open, the bad light-squared bishop is transformed into Black's best piece. A true model game for every French player!
