There is also curiosity about when "he" will start the season. This refers to Magnus Carlsen of St. Pauli, who could meet Baden-Baden and the hosts in Heimbach-Weis-Neuwied. Absent will be Aronian, Vachier-Lagrave, Firouzja and Caruana, who will be playing in São Paulo, Brazil, at the Grand Chess Tour Finals (from Sunday).
Games start on Saturday at 14:00 and on Sunday at 10:00. The games will be broadcast with a 15-minute delay.
FC St. Pauli has or had also planned a live stream, but it is not yet online. The stream will be linked here when available.
