Scorpio and their strategy

11/1/2022 – It seems we have arrived at the strongest of all chess star signs. But why are scorpions so brutally strong?| Photo: Pixabay

Centipawn Analysis: evaluating strength with an engine

11/1/2022 – Using an engine to find out how many moves in a game match its top choice, is but one way to measure a move's quality with an engine. Another key way is what analysts such as Ken Regan use: a tool to compare the engine's evaluation of a move with its own choice of best move, and see by how much the evaluations differ. Now you can do this too using the Centipawn Analysis tool in ChessBase 16!

Women’s Candidates: Anna Muzychuk wins thrilling tiebreak

10/31/2022 – It was a tiebreak that was worthy of the importance and drama that had led up to it. While Humpy Koneru and her fans will lament how it ended, the fact is the tiebreak was incredibly entertaining and had a bit of it all. Even the quiet start was crucial in setting up the very dramatic third and fourth games. Don't miss out on the report! | Photo: Michal Walusza

Women’s Candidates: Muzychuk and Koneru go to tiebreaks

10/30/2022 – The Petroff has never had a reputation for decisive games, so deliberately entering into one in a must-win situation would seem not a little mad, yet for Ana Muzychuk at least her persistence paid off when she broke her higher rated opponent's resistance with a brilliant exchange sacrifice. The Pioneers of Cheating in Chess

10/28/2022 – In the last several weeks, the world of chess has been rocked by the accusations and allegations of cheating with the help of a computer. The idea is not new of course, but it might shock you to know the very first case of surreptitiously using a computer in a game against a grandmaster dates all the way back to 1980. You won't believe who were responsible! Here is the original video footage of the pioneers in action.
