2/17/2023 – Wesley So, Levon Aronian and Andrey Esipenko kicked off the WR Chess Masters with wins, as they defeated Jan-Krzysztof Duda, Praggnanandhaa and Vincent Keymer respectively. Out of the three, So was the first one to leave the playing hall with a full point to his name. 2/13/2023 – In round 10 of the Women's Grand Prix tournament in Munich, Koneru Humpy was close to winning against Alexandra Kosteniuk, but eventually had to settle for a draw and missed the chance to catch Kosteniuk at the top of the table.
