10/15/2024 – Immediately after the Tech Mahindra Global Chess League, a number of top players, including Anand, Firouzja and Erigaisi, compete in the WR Chess Masters (14-18 October), a knockout tournament with short classical time control. The quarterfinals bring a number of interesting match-ups: Arjun Erigaisi vs Vidit Gujrathi, Nodirbek Abdusattorov vs Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, Alireza Firouzja vs Raunak Sadhwani, and Vishy Anand vs Praggnanandhaa! The players play 2-game matches - the first game starts at 10:00 local time (5:00 ET) and the second game starts at 17:00 local time (12:00 ET).
