Round Five Preview

Round five has smoking hot games in the Open section. In the top board Azerbaijan will face Serbia, theoretically the match should go to the Azerbaijanis but anything can happen. On board two Russia faces Bulgaria... which means it is Kramnik vs. Topalov! Right next to them is Aronian-Carlsen in the Armenia vs. Norway match.

The Women's section has a very close match in Russia vs. Georgia, two traditional chess powerhouses. However the top two boards will be China vs. Indonesia, with the top seed trying to stop the surprising Indonesian team. Hou Yifan will face Irene Sukandar in the first board. Speaking of teams that are on a rampage, the Iranian team will be trying to keep their tempo in their match against Hungary.

Kasparov has been busy signing his books... so many they had to start giving out the Spanish version!

Yours truly and Kema Goryaeva, the person that makes things work around here

E. S. Jacobsen (Norway 3) and Qiyu Zhou (Canada) are only 13 and 14, respectively!

There are many top level games today. Gelfand-Dominguez is one of them!

And in the Women's there is Lagno-Dzagnidze

Adams-Le Quang Liem is another of the 2700+ games

'

And, of course, the 2800+ average game: Aronian vs. Carlsen going on right now
