In this week's "Fast & Furious" show we have a look another game of Sam Shankland. The American player had an excellent run at the World Cup and had eliminated Peter Svidler in the previous round and impressively outplayed Sergey Karjakin in the first game of their mini-match.
However, the former World Championship challenger, who won the World Cup back in 2015, is well-known for winning his games on demand. He avoided the forcing main lines of the French and instead opted for the King's Indian Attack.
His approach worked out incredibly well and bounced back with a spectacular kingside attack.
Exercise: How did Karjakin give his attack a new impulse?
