Robert Ris’ Fast and Furious: Exploring the Sicilian Alapin

by Robert Ris
1/6/2023 – In the first "Fast & Furious" show of 2023 Robert Ris discusses the ins and outs of a well-known tabiya of the Sicilian Alapin, in which Black's strategy is based on exploiting a long term pawn weakness on c3. However, in practice he rarely gets the chance to do so as was confirmed by the recent games Abdrlauf-Smirin (Rilton Cup) and Ganguly-Makarian (World Rapid). | "Fast and Furious" is available on-demand with a ChessBase Premium Account. You can register a Premium account here.

In this video course, twenty-nine examples with multiple questions are presented in the interactive format, which is ideal for a range of playing strengths. Step by step you will be taken through the complex positions.
