The Sicilian Taimanov was seen in the blitz game Giri-Gukesh, in which the Dutch No.1 opted for the popular 6.Be3 and 7.Qf3 and, despite getting a good position from the opening, things went downhill rather quickly. In this episode I'll have a look at the current state of theory in this line and show some thematic ideas for both sides.

He is also a well-known ChessBase author who produced numerous DVDs and regularly contributes to ChessBase Magazine as well. Since 2015 he is the organizer of the Dutch Rapid Championships in his home town Amstelveen. He has started a YouTube channel with chess analysis as well.
