Winning starts with what you know
The new version 18 offers completely new possibilities for chess training and analysis: playing style analysis, search for strategic themes, access to 6 billion Lichess games, player preparation by matching Lichess games, download Chess.com games with built-in API, built-in cloud engine and much more.
It has been a little over two months since the launch of Playchess’s web client, and though incredibly convenient to watch games through the browser or play an inoffensive unrated game, it was missing that one key feature to make it a jack-of-all-trades: the ability to login using one’s subscriber username. Until now you could only login as a guest, but now that has been fixed and you can login with your proper username, play rated games, and of course watch any master or grandmaster game of your choice.
The procedure to login has not changed, and on the right there is that ever present invitation to “Try It Now!”, which if clicked on takes you to the webclient as a guest. Feel free to do so, since that is where you will now be able to enter with your username.
Just enter Playchess as a Guest, and then you can enter with your username
Upon entering there is that familiar arrangement of panes, with a small twist from
the initial launch: the center pane now contains a series of instructions in case you
need a little help finding your way around.
At the top right is a new button "Log In", click on it
You are now taken to a page where you can enter your login
information: your username and password. Enter them and
press Login.
Now it opens the usual page, but with a notable difference: you
are logged in with your account name
You can click on the Play Blitz button at the top, which is a default 3+0 game,
or you can click on the Seek button at the bottom left
A small pane will open allowing you to enter your chosen time control. Note you can
choose to play a Rated game now
If you need a reminder on what the buttons do, a descriptive Help
in the center pane is available
