Trent's Tactics - Paul Keres masters openings

by Arne Kaehler
3/3/2022 – Due to the current events, Lawrence and Arne decided to show this episode from early February today, instead of last week. Lawrence built his setup up in Barcelona, and shows us some golden Keres tactics right from the openings. The more often we keep repeating, and recognizing the patterns, the better we will get. In the tactics training, we slowly move towards 2500.

The Baffling 2.b3 Sicilian The Baffling 2.b3 Sicilian

Trent's Tactics

with Lawrence Trent and Arne Kaehler

Lawrence Trent takes us through the world of tactics. In every new episode, he teaches us a new tactical motif, which his co-host Arne Kaehler tries to solve.

The viewer is encouraged to actively participate in the tactics, stop the video, and try to solve the chess problems on their own.

The second part of "Trent's Tactics" dives straight into the ChessBase training section. Each episode, the two try to solve the tactics, and together with you, the viewer, embark on a long journey to brush up the score.

Don't forget: The bottom-right corner of the board indicates the colour to move!

The Sizzling Scotch Gambit

The Scotch Gambit is a brazen yet utterly sound system for White who immediately opens up the position, by sacrificing a central pawn, in an attempt to assassinate the enemy king as quickly as possible.
