Grivas on the Prokeš Manoeuvre (3)

by Efstratios Grivas
4/14/2025 – Have you mastered the ‘Prokeš Manoeuvre’? Can you confidently handle the endgame rook against two advanced pawns, as explained in two previous articles? Well, here is a final test: try winning some new positions against our diagram engine, and then check with the analysis given at the end to make sure you have understood everything. And tell international trainer Efstratios Grivas if this has been useful for your tournament performance.

Winning starts with what you know
The new version 18 offers completely new possibilities for chess training and analysis: playing style analysis, search for strategic themes, access to 6 billion Lichess games, player preparation by matching Lichess games, download Chess.com games with built-in API, built-in cloud engine and much more.

In my previous two article I described the Prokeš  Manoeuvre and gave you some positions to practice on. Today we have some more positions on which you can test your skills and see if you have mastered the strategy. In each case you should try to achieve the goal against the resistance of the diagram.

At the end of the article you will find all solutions in a replay window, with the games in which they occurred. You also have engine support to answer all residual questions you might have.
