Game of the Week #442
The 73rd Russian Championship became more and more exciting as it turned into a true race between Ian Nepomniachtchi and Sergey Karjakin. A key role was played by Daniil Dubov, who got into his best shape too late to have chances for first place, but managed to beat both contenders.
I was very close to recording Nepomniachtchi vs. Episenko from round 10 as the Game of the Week, but just in time I realized the potential of the absolutely amazing last-round encounter between the ever-fighting Dubov and Karjakin.
