Game of the Week #449

What a thrilling finish of a historical tournament: two Dutchmen sharing first place in Wijk aan Zee. Lawrence Trent discussed Jorden's amazing finish yesterday, so we will focus on the other winner: Anish Giri. For his fans it was heartbreaking to see him lose the blitz playoff, but he can be equally proud of his performance and writing chess history. Against Wojtaszek, Giri managed to squeeze out a win from a position that looked dead drawn.

Warm-up question: What would you play here with White?

When it comes to strategy, one of the key things that chess professionals understand much better than amateur players is the role of the bishop which is the key theme on this video course.
