Although Magnus Carlsen ultimately won Norway Chess, our attention now turns to the Limburg Chess Festival, which featured a large open tournament with 600 players and a fascinating closed GM norm group.

Ultimately, it was Eelke de Boer from Groningen who achieved his first grandmaster norm, scoring 6.5 out of 9. Although Eelke lost a spectacular game with Black against Casper Schoppen, our Game of the Week is his impressive attacking win with White against Alexandr Fier..
