On day 6 of the Julius Baer Generation Cup Maxime Vachier-Lagrave and Levon Aronian met in the semi-finals of the Losers Bracket. The first game of the best of three match ended with a draw in a French, but in the second game Aronian won with White in a rare Anti-Sicilian.

But in the final of the Losers Bracket Aronian lost 0-2 against Firouzja. In the first game Aronian lost an equal ending with rooks and opposite coloured bishops, in the second game Firouzja won with a bold piece sacrifice in a kind of King's Gambit.

In Division II Denis Lazavik won the final of the Losers Bracket against José Martinez and now plays against Wesley So in the Grand Final. In the Grand Final of Division III Fabiano Caruana and Vincent Keymer meet again. Keymer, who had lost in the semi-finals of the Winner's Bracket against Caruana, then defeated Javokhir Sindarov, Boris Gelfand and Jules Moussard and now has the chance to take revenge against Firouzja.
