The diagram shows what might well be the best-known endgame position in history. The position occurred in the 14th and last game of the World Championship match Ding Liren vs Gukesh D. A draw would have led to a 7-7 tie and a tiebreak. However, in this position Ding blundered and lost the game and the match. What did he play and why was that a mistake?
