Dmitrij Kollars replaces Vladimir Kramnik in the No-Castling World Masters: Before the start of the event, Kramnik experienced health problems, so he had himself tested for an infection and was found to be COVID-19 positive. He immediately isolated himself and will therefore not take part in the NC World Masters
“German national players measure themselves against the extended world's best”, that’s how the organizers of the Sparkassen Chess Trophy describe the most important tournament of their festival. Given that seven players are participants, one of them rests each round. This player will join Artur Jusupov in the commentary booth.
The time limit is 90 minutes for 40 moves + 30 minutes for the rest of the game + 30 seconds per move.
