Chess.com Classic: Ivic, Lazavik, Nepomniachtchi, Sarana and Duda qualify for Division I

5/10/2024 – On the second day of the Chess.com Classic the knockout rounds of the play-in were played to decide who would make it to Division I. After dramatic knockout matches Velimir Ivic (pictured), Denis Lazavik, Ian Nepomniachtchi, Alexey Sarana and Jan-Krzysztof Duda qualified, but co-favourites Wesley So and Fabiano Caruana will have to be content with playing in Division II.

Four ‘regular’ events and a grand finale in this year’s Champions Chess Tour

1/13/2024 – The new Champions Chess Tour (CCT) season kicks off this month with the return of the Chessable Masters and a faster format. Chess.com’s premier year-long event now consists of four main online tournaments, increasing the intensity leading up to the live season-ending Tour Finals.
