3/12/2023 – Karsten Mueller continues his training series for ambitious amateurs in ChessBase Magazine #212. This time it's about basic techniques in the endgame with rook and pawn against rook. You've probably heard about the "Lucena win", "Vancura's draw" - but do you still know how the whole thing works and which details you have to pay attention to? Karsten Mueller's contribution consists of an introductory video in which the techniques and motifs are presented and five interactive training videos in which it is your task to enter the solution on the board. 3/12/2023 – For the first time at the 2023 European Championship, Anton Korobov is not at least sharing the lead. The Ukrainian GM was defeated by Alexey Sarana, who thus climbed to sole first place in the standings. 3/12/2023 – The last day of play at the Armageddon Series Championship Series in Berlin again promises exciting blitz and frantic chess: Sam Shankland faces Andrew Tang to decide who will play Wesley So in the tournament’s final, which will take place right after that match is over. In both matches, two blitz games will be played; in case of a 1-1 tie, an Armageddon game will follow. Start: 19.00 CET. 3/11/2023 – ‘The Underdog’ is the newest series on ChessBase. We will witness some of the greatest upsets of the month, where dark horses get to beat the rating favourite! Robert Ris shares some beautiful examples, in which a rating difference of 500 or more points simply does not make a difference. One of the biggest upsets this month was achieved by Josephine Heinemann, who got the better of Hikaru Nakamura. What a brilliant start to the series!

3/11/2023 – Anton Korobov continues to lead the standings at the European Championship in Serbia. Korobov signed an 8-move draw with white against Benjamin Gledura, who was in sole second place going into Friday’s eighth round. Gledura is now joined in second place by Alexey Sarana, who defeated Yuriy Kuzubov on board 4. 3/10/2023 – World Women's day was on 8th of March, and Svitlana took the opportunity to show us three incredible games by the Polgar sisters. Sofia, Susan, and Judit are the greatest influencers of Svitlana's love for chess, and The Canadian WIM was lucky enough to meet Susan Polgar in 2018, as we can see in the pictures of this article.
