Timur Gareyev is a chess grandmaster originally from Uzbekistan. He has held the rank of 3rd highest rated chess player in the US and top 100 players in the world with a peak USCF rating of 2780. He is best known for his exceptional Blindfold Chess playing ability. Rapport wins match against Navara

6/11/2016 – David Navara, Czech’s number one, narrowly lost his four-game match against Hungarian talent Richard Rapport 1½-2½. The match was close, exciting, and decided in the fourth and final game. After three draws Navara opted for a sharp and double-edged attack in the fourth game but lost after an inaccurate move. Adventures in Portugal

12/8/2015 – Grandmaster Timur Gareyev loves challenges. He once played against 33 players blindfold simultaneously and he likes to travel the world for adventure. At the 9. Figueira da Foz Open in Portugal that took place from 21. to 28. November he enjoyed the surroundings and won with 8.5/9. But his most dangerous adventure came after the tournament.

The Pacific Coast – and the Pacific Coast Open 2013

8/23/2013 – The 18th Annual Pacific Coast Open was held at the Sheraton Agoura Hills Hotel, Agoura Hills, California. With a number of GMs and titled players participating it was won by Timur Gareev of Uzbekistan. He is not just a very strong player – and a blindfold record setter – but an explorer and adventurer who is in the process of discovering America's West. Here is his pictorial report.
