12/5/2018 – Following the example of the massive bi-annual Chess Olympiad, an Under-16 youth version was held in Konya, Turkey, a 9-round Swiss team tournament which took place from November 25th to December 2nd, 2018. 8/14/2016 – Slovakia, officially the Slovak Republic, is a landlocked country in Central Europe, dominated by its mountainous surroundings. Poprad city, the biggest town of the Spiš, recently organized the World Youth Under-16 Chess Olympiad, attracting 261 chess players from 40 countries, , and thus establishing a new record for the number of countries participating.
