Levitov's interviews with Kasparov seem to be an undiscovered treasure on YouTube. Writes Dirk Jan ten Geuzendam:
"In fact, it has become increasingly clear to me that although I firmly believe that these videos are among the most important recent contributions to chess history, it seems that for the general public they barely exist. They are the great unknown, hidden gems that few people know about. ...
In essence, the concept of the series is simple: Garry Kasparov is interviewed about his chess career in chronological order and illustrates the narrative by showing games from those periods."
The interviews are in Russian with English subtitles and are freely available on Levitov's YouTube channel. So far, 14 episodes have been released, but Levitov has announced that he will be releasing more episodes over time.
Although the series is not yet complete, it is already clear that Kasparov has produced an impressive testimony to his career. He tells countless stories from his life and the chess world in an engaging and gesticulating manner, shows games - often from memory - that he played years ago, and shines with charm, energy, a fantastic memory, openness and infectious enthusiasm for chess.
