Grivas on Pragg-Nepo

by Efstratios Grivas
4/10/2024 – The highlight game of round 5, in my opinion, was the game between the leader Ian Nepomniachtchi (Russia) and Ramesh Praggnanandhaa (India). A fierce and interesting game with mixed strategical and tactical motifs, quite typical of the form of chess nowadays! It was a very interesting battle and one deserved to study!

Winning starts with what you know
The new version 18 offers completely new possibilities for chess training and analysis: playing style analysis, search for strategic themes, access to 6 billion Lichess games, player preparation by matching Lichess games, download Chess.com games with built-in API, built-in cloud engine and much more.

Both opponents showed superb opening preparation, but in a certain moment Ian Nepomniachtchi cracked first, giving his opponent the chance to almost cash the point. The latter didn’t take the unexpected present and returned the favour, when the game afterwards headed for the safe waters of the draw.
