Game of the Week #556

The new elite tournament in Dusseldorf, the WR Chess Masters, seems to be well organized and is providing exciting chess for the chess fans. Several games were candidate for Game of the Week and in the end we decided that Abdusattorov's handling of the attack against Esipenko was extraordinary. He's not just an amazing endgame player, but seems to be equally strong in all sorts of positions and is currently storming the world's top ten.

Warm-up question: What would you play here with White?

The flexible Open Spanish

In this opening Black opts for active piece play and is not afraid to fight for the initiative from an early stage. One of the many good features of this opening is that Black is often the side which controls the pace of the game.
