David Midema

David became International Master in 2009 and then tried to quit chess several times, at one point even pursuing careers as diverse as standup comedian and philosophy writer. After finishing his master of philosophy he started to take up chess seriously again. He is on a mission to be the best teacher around devoting himself again to the 64 squares. He currently has no house and is therefore a very flexible teacher, reporter and vlogger (YouTube: chessnomad). One would almost forget he is still playing seriously as well. He plays for DSK Düsseldorf in the 2nd Bundesliga.
