7/17/2017 – This weekend the Swedish Championship wrapped up in Stockholm, where over a thousand players took part in the many rating groups, as the Swedish Chess Federation celebrated its 100th anniversary. GM Hans Tikkanen won the title.
7/28/2016 – The Swedish Championships, which took place from 15th to 24th July in Uppsala, were a big chess festival with tournaments for players of all levels and all ages. The "Mästarklassen", the Master Class, a ten player round-robin event, was dominated by Erik Blomqvist. After starting with three draws he decided it was time for action and went on to win all of his six remaining games to become Swedish Champion 2016.
7/22/2014 – He was just the eighth seed in this interesting and exciting championships, held in the small industrial town of Borlänge in the middle of Sweden. But GM Daniel Semcesen emerged sole winner with 6.0/9 points, adding 18 to his 2471 FIDE rating.
