Many of the SSD hard disks installed in standard configurations are relatively narrowly dimensioned in view of the amount of data that accumulates nowadays, and the user is often confronted with storage problems when using data-intensive programs.  Larger hard disks are not installed in many desktops/notebooks, and the buyer will then incur additional costs if he wants to comfortably access more disk storage.  Starting with Windows 8.1, the cloud-based data service OneDrive from Microsoft is available in all current Windows versions and is, for example, permanently integrated in the internal file manager, Windows Explorer.

Many buyers of our software therefore get the obvious idea to install (outsource) their FritzTrainer with the storage-intensive videos to the cloud drive offered by Microsoft and are surprised when the use of the data then does not work. The installation and especially the use of the content requires that the chess course is compulsorily activated with the supplied serial number. The activation routine saves important characteristic data of the system configuration used by the user to protect against piracy; this is only possible with an installation performed locally on the computer, i.e. on the computer's hard drive.

The cloud solution offered by Microsoft allows the user to upload files and thus provides Windows users with a convenient solution - analogous to the popular Google Drive in Android systems - to outsource storage-heavy files like photos, videos, audio files, etc. Basically, this is a good idea, but - as described before - it does not work with FritzTrainers due to the mandatory activation with the serial number.

We offer a direct alternative solution for users who want to save hard disk space and still use their FritzTrainer without restrictions! All current FritzTrainer video courses offer the option to watch the content of the purchased course directly in the browser on our video portal. So it is not necessary to install the contents of the chess course on the locally installed hard disk and watch it with ChessBase Reader, ChessBase or one of the chess programs on the desktop! Moreover, via the video portal and with a valid ChessBase account, you can watch the content directly with your smartphone or tablet and engage with the chess content flexibly in terms of time and location.
