7/24/2022 – The SuperUnited Croatia Rapid & Blitz tournament took place in Zagreb on July 20-24. Rapid chess was played from Wednesday to Friday, while blitz was the playing format on Saturday and Sunday. 7/23/2022 – Jorden van Foreest enters the blitz section of the SuperUnited Grand Chess Tour event in the sole lead, after having collected 12 points in the rapid. Van Foreest lost to Magnus Carlsen on Friday, but managed to defeat Alireza Firouzja, who lost the lead he had after six rounds. 7/21/2022 – The SuperUnited Rapid & Blitz tournament, the third event in this year’s Grand Chess Tour, kicked off Wednesday in Zagreb. Magnus Carlsen and Ian Nepomniachtchi, the contenders of the last World Championship match, were paired up against each other in the first round and drew their game.
