ChessBase 14 and the Openings App

Answer

So that you can manage your opening repertoire when you are away from home from your smartphone, tablet or with a different computer + browser, we offer you the Openings App. With it you can access your personal repertoire at any time when you are travelling.

At your home desktop computer, you will prefer to work with ChessBase 14, which offers significantly more functions than does the Openings App. Nevertheless, while you are working with ChessBase 14 you can directly support your repertoire which is stored online. Many users are not at all aware of this possibility!

Let us take a practical example from the game Pachman – Castaldi. This game is loaded in the board window and possibly relevant for your own opening repertoire.

Under the Training menu there is the option to send the moves from the board window directly to the App and to edit them on the server in the available repertoire or to save them!

The Openings App is started and the notation of the game loaded in CB 14 is transferred. In the next screenshot you can see how the move 4..f5 has been highlighted with a right click as being important for the repertoire for Black.

It is easy for the user to check this, if – as here in the example – the black repertoire is loaded. Menu “Load Black

The previously selected continuation will, after being highlighted, be added as a relevant move to the existing position tree.

That means that from ChessBase 14 you have available to you the possibility of looking after and extending your online repertoire!
