Whenever you start a new game with Fritz/Komodo or Houdini, the board is in general automatically rotated by 180 degrees. So with every fresh start the white and black pieces are set up at the bottom of the board, turn about. In support, a relatively frequent question is how to turn that off.
The setting can be changed under File > Options > Game.
There you will find the box “Flip board on new game”.
If you deactivate this option, then on every new game it will always be the white pieces from the user’s point of view which will appear at the bottom of the screen.
