Declutter Software

Answer

As in real life, you should also "declutter" our programs from time to time, i.e. get rid of superfluous things and thus create order and a better overview.

Most users have accumulated a large number of engines or older engine versions over the course of time. Do you need all of them to analyze your games properly? Most likely not, and of course you can remove these engines to make the loading dialog clearer.

However, it is not enough to simply delete the corresponding exe file of the chess engine.

Proceed as follows:

In the first step, delete the exe file from the target directory.

Then delete the configuration files with the file extension *.uci, which is automatically generated by the program when the engine is included.

With this you have deleted the engine completely from ChessBase, so there should be no entries in the load dialog etc. anymore.
