Remove UCI Engines completely

Answer

On the Internet there is a vast number of more or less powerful chess engines. Since the program offers an easy integration of different engines thanks to the implementation of the UCI protocol, more and more entries accumulate over time. Especially older engine versions are then no longer used and the user wants to remove them. The user can remove an integrated UCI engine in such a way that it is no longer displayed in the loading dialog of the user interface.

It is not enough to physically delete the engine file. Delete the chess engine with the file extension*.exe from the directory where it was saved. The next step is to remove the corresponding configuration file. The configuration files for the UCI engines have the extension *.uci.

The location is normally

C:\ProgramFiles(x86)\SharedFiles\ChessBase\Engines.Uci
