Clicking on the Reference tab in the board window starts the automatic opening reference in ChessBase. The program performs a quick search in the reference database for the current board position in the background and provides a lot of statistical information after each update of the board view and you can immediately see which top players have used the current continuation frequently.

The reference thus offers you a useful tool to quickly assess the value of a continuation.

In the column entry Score, the points scored with the respective displayed game continuation are displayed as a percentage.

When interpreting the results displayed in this column entry, please note that the value always results from the point of view of White and does not take into account which party is currently on the move.
