Question: I have a question about the search functions of the database program. I want to find games in which the move sequence e5 - e6 occurred. How can I filter games from the database in which this move occurred?
Answer: In general, you can find games with certain move sequences using the maneuvers of the advanced search mask. For example, in the given example, you want to find games in which White moves the pawn from e5 to e6.
You can do this as follows:
Right click on the database to be Search -> Advanced - Maneuvers.
Click on Maneuvers. Here you can define this search.
To define the search criterion, proceed as follows.
1. switch " W " as white should make this move.
2. set the piece type.
3. now define the starting and the target square. -> e5-e6.
By clicking OK the search is started and the program lists the games from the previously selected database which correspond to the search criterion.
If you click on an entry in the search result with the game list, the program jumps in the preview board directly to the position in which the maneuver move was executed.
