Tournament search

Answer

ChessBase 17 offers besides the already known access possibility via tournament index an additional search function to quickly find games of a certain tournament.

This search can be realized quickly in the new simplified search mask.

Right click in the database window on the database to be searched -> Any Event starts the simplified search mask.

In the dialog you now click on the entry "Any Event".

This opens a new dialog, here you will find a list of all tournaments that are recorded in the database. By the way, you can presort the display via the column entries Title,Place or Year.

The dialog offers the possibility to perform specific search queries. If you enter the search term in the Tournament input field, the list display is updated accordingly.

The following screenshot demonstrates the reaction of the program when entering the search term "Lond ...".

If the tournament you are looking for is displayed, click on Search to open the corresponding game list from the database. Double-click to load the games into the board window.

Alternatively, you can search for games played in a specific city via Location.

Here is a suitable example:

This procedure is much more comfortable and faster than the previously known and still implemented access via tournament index.

Note: in the progress indicator area you will find a concrete information about the number of games corresponding to the search criterion.
