Find players quickly

Answer

A search query for a certain player can be realized in different ways with our programs. Often the search mask in Fritz or ChessBase is used for this, a simple alternative for the search for certain players is the access via player index. The player index within the game list offers very precise results when searching for games of a certain player.

Let's assume you are searching for games of the player Magnus Carlsen via the search mask. The search takes some time and the search result lists the games of the player Carlsen, but it also lists games of other players. How to get only the games of the player Carlsen? Here the way via the player index leads faster to the goal.

Open the database to be searched and activate the player index by clicking on the "Players" tab. At the bottom of the screen you will find the input line "Search", there you enter the name.

The program immediately jumps to the first player with the name "Carlsen". The game list with games of the selected player is located in the game window to the right of the entries from the player index.

In addition, the program provides a list of all tournaments played by the selected player.
