Use resources efficiently

Answer

If you are using the current program version on an older computer with lower system resources, you can improve the performance with individual settings and support a smoother program flow.

In the options dialog there is the Limits section. There you will find two useful entries, namely Maximum board windows and Maximum list windows.

What can you do with these entries in practice, or what are these values supposed to be good for?

This settings dialog is especially useful if you have an older computer (for example an older notebook) with lower resources. Each open window demands system resources and memory, which can lead to the fact that a smooth workflow is no longer guaranteed on weaker machines. If you use ChessBase on an older computer with relatively little memory, lower the values in your own interest until the process runs more smoothly.
