Tip for automated annotation

Answer

ChessBase offers the possibility to insert comparative reference games into the game notation within a game with a single hotkey. This form of annotation needs only a few seconds.

For this to work, it is mandatory to have a reference database defined, which must also be classified with an opening key. If you use the Mega or the Big DataBase, they have a finely classified and edited database that makes an excellent reference database.

You assign the status as reference database to the database in the database window. Right click on the database icon - Properties - Reference database.

Now open any game in the board window in which you want to insert comparative opening references as a comment. With the key combination Ctrl-Shift-R the program starts its search in the reference database and immediately inserts the comparative games at the deviating position as a variant in the notation.

Using Save - Save Game you can replace the game entry in the database with the annotated game.
