No text comments

Question: I have a problem with ChessBase 17. The annotations/text are not displayed in the games! Games with comments are displayed only with notation, without text.

Annotations that I add myself are also not shown, but I can edit them, if I remember in which move they were, they are shown in the edit box. (Also works for games in MegaDB if I can guess where the words will appear).

If I export a PGN file of a game via right-click > Output > Export selection to text file.... I can read the annotations in the resulting file.

Answer: You have turned off the display of text annotations in the options under Notation. The display can optionally be switched on - or off with the mouse.
