Individual tactics training

Answer

The best learning effect is achieved by critically examining your own games. ChessBase and Fritz offer you the possibility to filter tactical moments from your own games and offer them again for solution.  With the help of ChessBase you can check afterwards where exactly you or your opponent made tactical mistakes.

Optionally, you can select several games or a single game and let the program automatically generate the training tasks.

Both Fritz and ChessBase offer this function, only the calculation of the analysis function is different.  In the chess program you use the Full Analysis, in ChessBase you use Analysis - Tactical Analysis.

Both functions are identical and allow you to automatically generate test positions from your own games, so that you can again examine the critical situations from your own games.

If you want to examine a single open game, load the game into the board window and select the previously mentioned analysis function in the program.

In the dialog window you can now select the analysis settings, here with the database program.

Set the analysis time per move in seconds and be sure to select the Training setting. This option is needed to generate the training positions!

The setting "Fine" is very important for the function, because it generates further test positions to be solved, if necessary.

After the analysis is done by the program, the critical positions are presented in the form of a training task. The critical position is marked with a diagram within the notation.

Even more comfortable and recommended in practice is the analysis of a complete collection of games, e.g. all games you have played in the last season. In the chess program you open the game list of the database, select the games with CTRL+mouse click and then select the full analysis.

With the database program it works similarly.  You can mark the games you want to analyze in the list preview and then right-click and select "Tactical Analysis".

Use the tactical analysis and go through the tactical moments in your own games again.
