Database tip for Fritz

Answer

How is a database defined as a "write database" when using Fritz? For example, if you have entered a game manually and want to save it, go to the File menu and select the "Save Game" entry. The database selection dialog will appear with the databases you have already opened with the program.

Here you can select the database as the target database for saving the game. If you want to save to a different database or if you are new to the program and have never used the save function, click on "Other" in the dialog to select a different database for saving.

Tip: you can create a new database in the board window via menu File - New - New database, alternatively you can also do it in the database window of the program.

Tip: If you have already opened a game list in the database window and select "Save" there, the program will offer to save it in this database. This way you make sure that the captured game is saved directly in the database you want.

So if you often capture games yourself, you should first open the game list of the database where you want to save the games.

In the Fritz database window there is a useful workaround. In the file menu you will find a listing of the databases you have last edited.

So it is not necessary to search the files laboriously on the hard disk.

Note: note that when calling the previous game from the game list, the current notation is closed!
